40 Gbps optical communications transceivers users continue to demand for a smaller size and lower power transceiver module. The OL5191M enables the miniaturization of the 40 Gbps transceiver module because of the integration of driver IC and EML in a single housing. It is expected to reduce as much as 60% of the mounting area compared to the traditional approach using EML module and external driver IC.

The OL5191M has both Oki Semi in-house manufactured EML chip as well as InP HEMT based driver IC. Using our high-speed, low power consumption devices, Oki Semi enable transceiver designs with high-performance, high-quality optical components serving the 40 Gbps optical communications market.
